Operation Repo
TruTV has a reality series called Operation Repo. Basically they follow around a crew of brawny, heavily tattooed auto reposessors (men and women) in the San Fernando valley. Drama and hijinks ensue.
I'm sure they only show the more dramatic repos on TV (and I found the show strangely compelling, especially to see how a lot of the time the repo crew gets tips about auto whereabouts from disaffected family members), but what I was most struck by was how often the repos "breach the peace." People are routinely getting pepper-sprayed or shoved or put into headlocks as they try to stop the repo actions. Occasionally someone pulls a gun on the repo men, and they back off.
My secured credit class spends a tiny bit of time on repos, but the show is a vivid reminder that practice and law (repomen can't breach the peace) are very far removed. I think it's safe to say that the law of repomen is law of the jungle.

The episode where the car flipped over. I believe they would have had to call the cops. They broke the law by leaving the scene of an accident. I still enjoy watching it sometimes. Did Matt get canned?

You people are all stupid! this show is real it tells you this in the opening scene . so all you fagets that think that this cant be possible go suck a cock. And also you guys are saying that these guys should go to jaile for useing pepper spray, What the fuck they are protecting their self. the only time they use pepper spry is when the person lays a hand on them or becomes dangerous. Get the facts and quit being stupid people.

Operation Repo sucks. These guy are punks. What a joke? The big guys gets his butt kicked and they pepperspray the guy. Then they call the cops and press charges. Makes me think all repo people are slime.

Those of you on here defending the show are a bunch of morons! You can't honestly believe the show is real. Tell ya what. Watch the show and the next time they use pepper spray on someone count the number of SECONDS it takes the 'victim' to recover. I promise you, if you get sprayed with the shit you arent opening your eyes within the next 30 seconds! On that note, I still watch the show just so I can sit around and make fun of them. They are entertaining.

I can't believe anyone thinks this is real!! I had never heard of this show until ealier tonight, and after watching it 10 minutes (which is about all I could take) you could easily see they are doing a re-enactment. A bad one at that, I have never seen such bad acting. And as an earlier post mentioned, I also have known some repo guys who make a very nice living, and they are professional and rarely have any altercations. I've seen better acting in porno movies, sheesh, wrestling is fake too, but at least it is somewhat entertaining.

Matt is the biggest moron on TV. He could have been one of the original 3 stooges. Plus he can't fight a lick and has a glass jaw. No brains either. Just a tattoed idiot. Al

Yeah READ THE DISCLAIMER!! It is a portrayal. I am a repo man in the midwest and would never hang around waiting for a conflict. I get the car (usually have a spare key) and get the hell out in about 30sec. If I use a tow truck (5-10 min). This show is horrible. It makes it look okay and funny to physically attack a repo man doing his job. Its not okay or funny, if anyone attacked me I would immediately leave or call the cops. Take this shit off the air now!!!

This show is real, otherwise why at the beginning of the program stated that "is based on real events and the names of the people are changed for protection"?.. Think about this: TruTv don't going to be in the position of doing fake programs and lose their reputation.. I must say that this business is hard and doesn't matter if they are covered in tattoos or don't look professionals but that what they do for a leaving and can't come with sweets talks, they are in a bad area and people can get mad and aggressive but if they don't pay the bill or at least do the arrangements with the bank, that will be the expectations.. Sometimes Matt acting up and act silly but that's the way the cookies crumble

HOW COME THAT PEOPLE GET MAD AND ACT STUPID WHEN THEIR CAR IS REPOSSESSED???? THAT'S WHY THEY GOT PEPPER SPRAYED WHEN GET AGGRESSIVE. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES BUT DON'T WORTH THE INCONVENIENCE AND TROUBLE WHEN YOU KNOW THAT ARE BEHIND IN YOUR PAYMENTS AND IS IMMINENT THE REPOSSESSION.. JUST LET IT GO...

Show may be fake but persons are real repo company employees, I have been in the repo business for 20 years and this is a load of garbage to watch, every repo man or woman i know wants to make no confrontation at all and just do their job and go home at the end of the day, and Phillip, here is the info about the persons in question.
